I am a love junkie. I am addicted to that rush of emotions caused by a new romantic relationship. I do not seek it, but when it finds me, I am more than willing to let it in. This is my story from the beginning…

I am no expert on history. It was actually my least favorite subject in school. But I do understand the basic concepts of how societies have been created throughout the history of humankind. Evidence of the formation of familial units exists as far back as ancient cultures with the concept of these units outlined in creation myths.

Somewhere in the history of humankind, it was decided that a man and a woman must unite in a monogamous relationship in order to procreate the human race and continue family lines. The nature and structure of family units may look different in various cultures, but monogamy seems to be the only acceptable structure in which humans have been permitted to grow families in modern societies.

We all know that there are many groups of people who challenge this status quo and practice polygamy, polyamory, or live in sexually liberated open communities. Because these lifestyles challenge the norm, they often tend to be ignored, criticized, shunned, and even punished.
