The Power of Pot: What I Have Been Missing

I feel fortunate to be witnessing the shift in perspective on the usage of marijuana. For decades, I have benefited from the effects of smoking weed in the privacy and solitude of my home, almost always smoking alone and going straight to bed. I just always viewed my usage of marijuana as medical even though it was self-prescribed. For many, many years, I substituted weed in place of harsher and more addictive prescription sleep medications and my life has been a million times improved because of it.

Even though I knew how practical and important the benefits of pot were to my mental health, I really never engaged in smoking recreationally until recently because it was still highly frowned upon by the majority of society. And so I kept my pot smoking ways in the closet. As a result, I missed out on a few things.

First, I missed out on the opportunity to share the extraordinary benefits of marijuana with other people, people who could also benefit if they gave it a try. I very badly wanted to share this knowledge with others. And I hate to admit it, but I was afraid. I feared the judgment of others. I was concerned that people would think I was irresponsible, lazy, a bad…
